The regular 6×8 insert sits low in the pocket and barely covers your heart. These 6X9″ inserts to give you more coverage over your heart and upper chest. They will fit most concealed carriers front trauma pockets and are also good for cumberbun pockets ACU/BDU pockets for added protection. They are far superior to the 6×8 “trauma inserts” that come with concealed vests. These are the same stand alone level IIIa and fragmentation rated construction as our premium vests made of kevlar and spectra for better ballistics and less blunt trauma. These level IIIa multi hit (.357sig and .44 magnum) and milspec fragmentation rated inserts are light weight, less than 4 lbs, flexible and comfortable, about 1/4″ thick, and offer excellent protection, better than milspec issue, and better than any single fabric insert. Inserts made with only 1 type of material have a weakness, either higher blunt trauma or poor point blank shot performance.
